Picking a gift for a postdoctoral research associate
A postdoc is usually in their late twenties or thirties, working on someone else's grant while trying to build a publication record that will get them a faculty job or an industry role. Long hours in the lab, weekend experiments that run on their own schedule, and a steady stream of reviewer comments make the job feel like a long stretch between milestones. A gift that acknowledges that stretch lands well. A hoodie is the practical choice for the cold basement lab or the late-night drive home from campus. A mug with their title on it suits the bench, where coffee is basically a reagent. Put their field or lab group on the second line if you know it. Postdocs often finish in a fixed term, so a shirt or mug with their title can also mark the stage they're in, and that makes a thoughtful send-off if they're moving on to the next position.
Postdoctoral Research Associate gift questions
Can I add my friend's field or lab under the title?
Yes. Many designs have a second line. Type the field or lab name there and the preview updates so you can check the spacing.
Is postdoctoral research associate too long for a design?
The text is long, so check the preview before you order. Designs with a shorter second line usually fit better than trying to squeeze in extra words.
Can I order shirts for a whole lab group?
Yes. Use the Team Shop: choose one design, paste a list of names, and pick a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
Is there a kids version for a postdoc's family?
Yes, there are a few kids tees and a baby onesie. Use the product filter to see them.
What sizes do the postdoctoral research associate shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a postdoctoral research associate gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
