Picking a gift for a principal technical writer
A principal technical writer is the person the whole product team leans on when the docs need to make sense to a customer. They're usually the one who spots the missing step in the install guide, rewrites the API reference so an engineer can actually follow it, and sits in the review meeting asking what a term means. The work is quiet and mostly invisible, so a gift that names the job out loud tends to land. A shirt or hoodie with their title on it says you noticed what they do, and it's a good conversation starter at a conference or a team offsite. A mug fits the long stretch of editing at a home desk. If you want it to feel more personal, add the team or product they've been living in, or a line about the style guide they've rewritten for the third time. Those details show you know what their days are actually like.
Principal Technical Writer gift questions
Can I shorten the title to Technical Writer?
Yes. Type whatever wording they use, such as Tech Writer or Principal Writer, and the preview will update. Use the title they put on their badge or email signature so it matches.
Can I add their team or product name?
Many designs have a second line. Put the team, product or company division there, or leave it off for a simpler look.
Is this a good gift for a writer who is not principal level yet?
It can be, though some people prefer the title they are working toward. You can type any job title you like, so match it to what they actually do.
What sizes do the principal technical writer shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a principal technical writer gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
