Picking a gift for a professor of practice
A professor of practice is someone who brings years of work outside academia into the classroom, often teaching design, law, journalism, business or engineering alongside people who've done the job for a living. They tend to carry a mix of pride and dry humor about the title, since it sits between the faculty and the field they came from. A gift that respects both sides lands well. Think about the courses they teach, the lab or studio where they spend late afternoons, and the coffee they drink while grading. The title is long, so use it as written or shorten it to Professor of Practice on the main line and put their discipline or department on the second line. A shirt or hoodie works well for lectures and faculty events, and a mug suits the office where they prep for class. Ask a colleague which program they belong to so the detail is right.
Professor Of Practice gift questions
Can I add their discipline to the shirt?
Yes. Most designs have a second line where you can type a field like design, law or engineering. The preview updates so you can check how the line fits before you order.
Is the title too long for a mug?
The title fits on most designs, but a long line may print smaller. Look at the preview to see how it sits, and shorten it to Professor of Practice if you want larger lettering.
Can I order for a whole department?
Yes. Use the Team Shop: choose one design, paste the names, and pick a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
What's a good gift for a new professor of practice?
A mug or hoodie with the title and the year they started. It marks the move into teaching and is something they'll use in their first term.
What sizes do the professor of practice shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a professor of practice gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
