Gifts from Red Hook
Red Hook is a waterfront neighborhood in Brooklyn, and the people who call it home tend to feel strongly about it. Some grew up there in the old working-dock days, some moved in for the bars and the brick-lined streets, and some just know it as the place with the good ferry view. A Red Hook shirt is how they say so without a speech. It works for a friend who's been there for years, a cousin who just moved in, or someone who keeps the neighborhood in their heart after leaving. Brooklyn is crowded with shirts that say Brooklyn, so a shirt that names the actual neighborhood stands out and starts conversations with people who know it. Add a street, a year they moved in, or the name of their block on the second line. A mug suits the one who works from home near the water, and a hoodie is the right gift for a cold ferry ride.
