Picking a gift for a research advisor
A research advisor spends a lot of time guiding other people through their work: reading drafts late at night, pushing a student past a stuck chapter, and quietly defending a lab's budget in meetings nobody else wants to attend. The gifts that land tend to be practical and a little personal. A hoodie for the cold office or the long drive to a conference, a mug for the coffee that keeps the afternoon moving, or a tee for the weekend they finally step away from the email. Put their title on it and the gift says you understand what they do, not just where they work. A second line can hold a lab name, a department, or the year a student graduated under their supervision, which makes the shirt feel earned. Advisors often collect small tokens of thanks from people they've mentored, so a single good gift from a current or former student is hard to beat. Check the wording before you order, since research advisor reads differently from research adviser depending on your department's style.
Research Advisor gift questions
Can I add a lab name or department to the design?
Many designs have a second line. Type the lab, department or university name there and the preview will update so you can check the spacing before ordering.
Is research advisor the right wording, or should it be adviser?
Both spellings are in use. Some departments prefer one over the other, so check their usual style or ask a colleague before you choose.
Can I get a design for a whole research group?
Yes. The Team Shop prints one design for a group. Paste the list of names, pick a size for each person, and each shirt will carry its own name.
What sizes do the research advisor shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a research advisor gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
