Picking a gift for a research chef
A research chef works on the other side of the kitchen door from the line cooks: they're developing recipes, testing new ingredients, running tastings and figuring out how a dish holds up when it's made a thousand times in a commissary. Their days are spent in test kitchens, in front of a notebook full of ratios, and at tasting tables where the feedback is honest and sometimes blunt. A gift that acknowledges that work lands better than a generic chef shirt. A tee or hoodie with research chef on it says you know their job is different from the cook on the line, and it's a good thing to wear to a food show or a tasting. A mug is the easy daily reminder, the one they'll reach for while writing up the next round of tests. Add their company or specialty on the second line if you know it, and the shirt becomes theirs.
Research Chef gift questions
Can I add a specialty or company name to a research chef shirt?
Yes. Many designs have a second line. Type a specialty, like pastry or sauces, or a company name there and check the preview before ordering.
What's a good gift for someone starting as a research chef?
A hoodie or mug works well for a new role. It's something they'll use every day and it marks the step up from line cook or sous chef.
Is there a version of this design for kids?
Kids tees come in a smaller selection of designs. Use the product filter on this page to see the kids options for research chef.
What sizes do the research chef shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a research chef gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
