Picking a gift for a research librarian
Research librarians spend their days chasing down the answer nobody else could find, whether that's a court case buried in a 1950s reporter, a patent citation, or the one archive that still has the county's old survey maps. They work in universities, law firms, hospitals and corporate libraries, and most of their best work happens quietly, so a gift that says what they do can feel good to receive. A tee or hoodie with research librarian on it is a fun way to show you know the job has more to it than shushing people. A mug suits the desk where they keep a pile of interlibrary loan requests going. For the librarian who handles the hard questions, a name or a library line on the design makes it personal, and a graduation hoodie works well for someone who just finished their MLIS and is starting their first real reference job.
Research Librarian gift questions
Can I add a library name or a degree to the shirt?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so you can type the library, university or degree there. The preview updates so you can check the spacing.
Are there designs for kids who want to be research librarians?
Yes. Kids tees and dark kids tees carry the same design, so a young reader who loves digging through books can wear it too.
Can I order shirts for a whole library staff?
Yes. Use the Team Shop to choose one design, paste the staff names, and pick a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
Is there a specific day that honors librarians?
School Library Month is in April in the US, and many libraries recognize staff throughout the spring, so an April gift can land well.
What sizes do the research librarian shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a research librarian gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
