Picking a gift for a research tech
A research tech is the person who keeps a lab running: prepping samples, calibrating equipment, logging data at odd hours, and quietly fixing the freezer before anyone notices it's warming up. The job is detail-heavy and often unseen, so the gifts that land are the ones that acknowledge that work. A soft tee for the bench, a hoodie for the chilly cold room, or a mug for the first coffee before the day's protocols start. Put their lab, institution or specialty on the second line if you know it, and the shirt becomes theirs rather than a generic science joke. If you're buying for a whole lab team, the Team Shop lets you pick one design and paste each person's name, so everyone gets a shirt with their own name on it. Research techs often have less recognition than the PIs whose names end up on papers, so a gift with their own name on it tends to mean more than it first appears.
Research Tech gift questions
Can I add my lab or institution name to the shirt?
Yes. Many designs have a second line, so type the lab name, unit or specialty there and the preview will update so you can check the spacing.
Is there a kids option if the research tech has a child in the lab family?
Yes. Kids tees and a baby onesie are available for this word, so you can match a family gift if that suits the recipient.
Which product works best as a gift for a research tech?
A tee or hoodie is a good everyday choice for someone who works on their feet in a lab. A mug suits anyone who starts the day with coffee at the bench.
What sizes do the research tech shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a research tech gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
