Picking a gift for a resident intern
Residents and interns are in the first years of training after medical school, working long shifts, learning on the fly and often running on coffee. Many of them are still figuring out who they are as doctors, and they may not feel like they have much time or money for themselves. A gift that acknowledges that stretch of training, something they can wear to the hospital or keep on the break-room counter, tends to land well. Put the word resident or intern on it, and add their specialty, such as internal medicine, surgery or pediatrics, plus the year of their program if you know it. Residency and intern years are often marked by a single start date each July, so a hoodie or mug with that year can become a small milestone. A personalized design says you see the work they're doing, even on the nights when nobody else does.
Resident Intern gift questions
Can I add a specialty or program year to the design?
Yes. Many designs have a second line you can use for a specialty, a program year or a hospital name. The preview updates as you type so you can check the spacing.
Is there a kids or baby version of a resident design?
There are a few kids tees and a baby onesie in the resident or intern designs. Use the product filter on this page to see exactly which ones are available.
Can I order shirts for my whole residency class?
Yes. The Team Shop lets you choose one design, paste a list of names and pick a size for each person, so every shirt prints with its own name.
What's a good gift for someone starting their intern year?
A mug or hoodie with intern and the year they started is a practical keepsake. It marks a hard first year without being too serious.
What sizes do the resident intern shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a resident intern gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
