Gifts from San Mateo
San Mateo is a Peninsula city between San Francisco and San Jose, and plenty of people who live there commute north or south every day, so a shirt that says San Mateo is a quiet way of saying where home is. It's the kind of place people settle in for good, raising families, going to the same bakery and running into the same faces at the farmers market. A gift with the city name lands best when it fits that everyday life: a tee for a weekend walk along the trail, a hoodie for the cool evenings that roll in off the bay, or a mug for the first coffee before the commute. You can personalize the second line with a neighborhood, a school name, a class year or a family name, which turns a city shirt into one that means something specific to the person wearing it. If you're buying for someone who moved away, the mug or the dark tee can be the reminder of where they grew up.
