Gifts from Scales Mound
Scales Mound is a small village in northwest Illinois, close to the Mississippi River and the Wisconsin line, and most people who love it have a real tie to the place: they grew up there, their family has been there for generations, or they drive through on the way to somewhere else and found they liked it more than they expected. A shirt or mug with the village name is a way to claim that connection. Because the place is small and specific, the gift lands best when you add something only the recipient would recognize, like a graduating class, a family name, or a year they moved back. Many designs have a second line, so you can put a year or a family name under the village name and make it theirs. The hoodie suits cold river mornings, and a mug is an easy everyday reminder of home for someone who lives somewhere else now.
