Picking a gift for a scientific director
A scientific director usually runs a lab, a research program or an institute, which means they spend as much time in budget meetings and grant reviews as they do at the bench. They got there by years of experiments that didn't work, papers rejected, and late nights before a deadline, and most of their colleagues know exactly what that took. A gift that acknowledges the title without making a fuss tends to land best. A dark tee or hoodie is something they can wear to the lab, the conference or the weekend. An 11 oz mug is the one they'll reach for every morning while reading the overnight data. Adding the lab or institute name on a second line, or the year they took the role, turns a generic title into something that's theirs. You don't have to know the science to make it meaningful; you just need the name and the line that matters to them.
Scientific Director gift questions
Can I add the name of the lab or institute?
Yes. Many designs have a second line for a place or organization. Type the lab or institute name there and check the preview before ordering.
Is there a design that works for a whole research team?
Yes. Use the Team Shop to pick one design, paste the names of your team, and choose a size for each person. Each shirt prints with its own name.
What's a good gift for a scientific director who's just been promoted?
A mug or hoodie with the title and the year they took the role. It's personal, useful, and marks the change without much fuss.
Can I write the title in a shorter form?
Yes. Type any version of the title you prefer, such as Sci Director, and the preview will show how it fits on the design.
What sizes do the scientific director shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a scientific director gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
