Gifts from South Naknek
South Naknek is a small fishing village on the Alaska Peninsula, on the Naknek River, and most of the people who call it home have deep roots in the fishing season that runs through the summer. A gift for someone from South Naknek is probably for a person who has lived with long days, cold water and a close-knit community that looks out for each other. Many people who grew up there or fish there now live elsewhere, and a shirt with the village name is how they carry it with them. Put it on a tee for a summer trip or a hoodie for the first cold snap, and it becomes a small piece of home they can wear anywhere. If you know their family, their boat, or the year they came back to the village, add it on the second line so the design belongs to them and not just to the place.
