Picking a gift for a structural design engineer
A structural design engineer spends their days figuring out how loads travel through a building or bridge, checking beam spans, connections and foundations against codes, and often defending a calculation to people who would rather not hear it. The work is precise and mostly invisible until something goes wrong, so the gifts they appreciate tend to be the ones that acknowledge the craft. A tee or hoodie with their title on it is a nice nod for the drive to a job site or a weekend at home, and a mug with their name is a small daily reminder that someone noticed. Add their firm or their specialty in the second line if you know it, and the design stops being generic. For a new engineer who just passed their exams, a hoodie with their title and the year they got licensed is a quiet way to mark the milestone. Keep the details in your own words and check the title with them if you're unsure how their role is written.
Structural Design Engineer gift questions
Can I add a license or credential after the title?
Yes, if they hold one. Type it on a second line, such as PE or SE, and check the preview so the spacing looks right. If you're not sure how their credential is written, ask them first.
Is there a special day for engineers?
Engineers' Week in the US is observed in late February, and many engineers also celebrate around graduation season in May and December. Order a little early for either.
Can I put their firm name on the design?
You can type any text you like into the second line, including a firm name. Keep it short so it fits neatly on the shirt or mug.
What's a good gift for a team of engineers?
Use the Team Shop to pick one design and paste a list of names. Each person gets a shirt with their own name and their chosen size.
What sizes do the structural design engineer shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a structural design engineer gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
