Gifts from Swaledale
Swaledale is a small valley in the Yorkshire Dales, known for its stone barns, sheep and the river Swale running through the dale. People who come from there, or who love it, tend to be proud of how quiet and specific it is, so a Swaledale shirt says something about where they belong rather than just repeating a famous city name. A Swaledale tee suits a walker who spends weekends on the fells, a visitor who wants a keepsake from a walking holiday, or a relative who moved away and still talks about the dale. The shirt is the easy part; the gift lands when you add a detail that's theirs, such as a village name, a year they first visited or a trail they love. Keep the second line short and let the word do the work. A hoodie suits the cold hillside walks, and a mug is the right size for the kitchen table where the map usually sits.
Swaledale gift questions
Can I add a village or a year to the design?
Many designs have a second line. Type a village near the dale, or the year of a visit, and the preview will update so you can check the spacing before you order.
Is Swaledale a city?
Swaledale is a valley and dale in North Yorkshire rather than a city, but the designs here are listed under cities because the name is a place people identify with strongly.
What's a good gift for someone who has walked the dale?
A tee or hoodie with the dale's name works well, especially if you add the year of their walk or a trail they took. It's something they can wear on the next walk.
What sizes do the swaledale shirts come in?
Adult tees come in S to 3XL. Hoodies, kids tees and onesies list their own sizes on each product page.
How long does a Swaledale gift take to arrive?
Each order is printed after you place it, in 2 to 4 business days, then ships by ground in 3 to 5 business days. The product page shows the delivery window for today's orders.
What if the print has a mistake?
If we print something different from the preview you approved, or it arrives damaged, we reprint it free.
