Gifts for Therapeutic Recreation Directors

Picking a gift for a therapeutic recreation director

A therapeutic recreation director plans and runs the programs that get people moving, creating and connecting again, often in hospitals, rehab centers, senior living communities or schools. Their days are full of activity calendars, staff schedules, family meetings and the small moments when a resident laughs during a game they'd stopped playing. A gift that recognizes that work tends to land well. A tee or hoodie they can wear on a long day of planning, or a mug for the office where the schedule gets revised, shows you understand what they do. Adding their facility type or their name makes it more personal than a generic profession shirt. If you're gifting for a whole department or a team of recreation staff, the Team Shop lets you order one design with each person's name on their own shirt. Many people in this field also celebrate Therapeutic Recreation Week, which falls in early February, so it's a good time to order.
