Gifts from Ticonderoga
Ticonderoga is a small town in upstate New York, on the shore of Lake George's neighbor Lake Champlain's outlet, and its people tend to be proud of a place most of the country has never heard of. A shirt with the town name is the kind of thing a former resident, a family member who stayed, or a friend who visited for the fort history will actually wear. Since the town is less familiar to most shoppers than a big city, the most meaningful choice is often a second line that tells the story: a street, a graduating class year, or the name of the family who has lived there for generations. A Ticonderoga hoodie suits someone who moved away and still gets homesick in October. A mug works for the kitchen of the person who stayed behind and runs the household. Keep the design simple and let the name do the talking.
