Gifts from Warthen
Warthen is a small place name, and most shoppers searching for it are buying for someone who grew up there, or who still carries it in the way they answer where they're from. A shirt with the town on it is a quiet way of saying that a small place counts. People from small towns often have a particular pride: they know the roads, the school, the people who run the store, and they tend to be the first to say so when someone asks. A tee or hoodie with the name on the front gives them something to wear back home, and a mug gives them a daily reminder. Because the name is short and uncommon, a second line can carry the part that makes the gift theirs, such as the year they left, a family name or the word home. If you're buying for someone who moved away, the gift does the work of the phone call you keep meaning to make.
