Gifts from West Des Moines
West Des Moines is a suburb with a lot of people who grew up in Iowa and stayed, and a lot who moved there for work and found they liked it. Many have a commute toward downtown Des Moines or the insurance and finance offices along the interstate, and plenty spend weekends at the family soccer field or the trails near the lakes. A West Des Moines shirt works for someone who's proud of where they live without needing a big-city story. It fits the person who coaches youth sports there, the one who's lived through a few growing-up years on the same street, or the grad headed off to college and missing the suburban routine. Adding the year they moved in or their high school class year turns a town name into a personal marker. A mug on the kitchen counter does the same job every morning, and a hoodie works well for the cold Iowa winters that make a warm layer feel essential.
