About this albany gift
Albany is the state capital of New York, a city of government offices, old brick, and a river that runs along its edge. People who grew up there, or who spent years working in the capitol or at one of the local colleges, often carry the name with them for a long time after they leave. A shirt that says Albany is how they claim the place, whether that's on a weekend in the Hudson Valley or on a trip to the coast where nobody has heard of it. Albany people tend to be proud of their city in a practical way, so a gift that's useful and sincere works better than something flashy. A hoodie for the cold months, a mug for the kitchen, or a tee for summer all make sense. If the person is a transplant who misses home, a mug or shirt with Albany on it is a small reminder that they're still from somewhere specific, even if they've moved on.
