About this amelia island gift
Amelia Island is a small barrier island off the northeast Florida coast, known for its beaches, its historic downtown and its slow pace. Someone who has spent time there, or who grew up or retired there, carries it with them in a particular way. A shirt with the island's name is how they pick it out on a crowded beach or in a parking lot full of Florida plates. The island has more than one identity, from the Victorian district in Fernandina Beach at its northern end to the quiet stretches of dune and marsh on the south side, so a second line with a neighborhood, a year or a family name can make the design feel personal rather than like a souvenir. Hoodies suit the cooler months when the island can get breezy, and a mug works for the homesick person who misses the view.
