About this ashuelot gift
Ashuelot is a small village in the town of Dublin, New Hampshire, and it is also the name of a river that runs through the Monadnock region of southwestern New Hampshire. People who grew up there, or who spend their summers along the water, tend to hold on to the name tightly. A shirt or mug with Ashuelot on it is a way of saying where you're from, and it works especially well for the person who has moved away and still gets homesick for small-town New England. Since the name is uncommon, most people won't recognize it at a glance, which makes it a conversation starter for the people who do know it. Add a second line with the year they moved, the street they lived on, or the river itself, and the design becomes a piece of their own history rather than a generic place shirt.
