About this auto gift
Auto is a Michigan word for many people, a shorthand for the auto industry, the factory towns and the families who have worked on the line for generations. It's also a word that gets a lot of pride from people who grew up in Detroit suburbs or in the cities and towns built around cars. Because the word is about a place and a way of life, the best gifts tie it to the person's own corner of it: their town, their street, the year they started, or the shop they worked at. A shirt that says Auto with a neighborhood or a graduation year underneath feels like theirs rather than a souvenir. A hoodie suits the cold mornings of a plant parking lot, and a mug is the easy daily reminder of home for someone who has moved away. Pick the product that matches their life and add the detail only they would recognize.
