About this bourg gift
Bourg is a small word to build a gift around, and it's worth being honest about that. Bourg is a common word in French place names, meaning a fortified town or market settlement, and it turns up in many towns across France and in English-language usage as a surname root. Rather than guess at a specific local history, lean into what you know about the person: where they live or grew up, the town they're proud of, or the nickname friends use. A shirt with Bourg across the front works well for someone who left a small town and still wears its name, or for a family that traces roots to a particular place. Pick the design that fits their mood, then use the second line for the town, the street, or a year that matters to them. It's a gift that's about the person's home more than the word itself.
