About this bovey gift
Bovey is a small name for a place, and it may not be one most shoppers know well. For someone from Bovey, or someone who grew up there and left, a shirt or mug with the town name is a way to claim it in a crowd of strangers who've never heard of it. Bovey people often want to show where they're from more than they want a generic town souvenir, so the detail that lands is the name itself, set exactly as it's spelled and capitalized the way they say it. For a shopper, the simplest move is to ask the recipient how they write it and what they'd add underneath: a street, a year they moved, or a family name. A hoodie suits someone who misses a chilly hometown, and a mug suits the morning ritual of someone who wants a reminder of home on the counter.
