About this chilmark gift
Chilmark is a small town on the west side of Martha's Vineyard, known for farmland, stone walls and a quieter pace than the island's busier villages. People who grew up there or spend their summers there tend to be fiercely attached to it, and a shirt with the town name is how they say so at the beach, the farm stand or the ferry dock. Because the town is small, the gift works best when it's personal: add a family name, a year they first came up for the summer, or the street or house they know by heart. A hoodie suits the cool evenings on the island, and a mug fits the kitchen of someone who wants a daily reminder of home. If you're buying for someone who moved away, a Chilmark design brings the place back without any explanation needed.
