About this gambell gift
Gambell is a small village on the northwest tip of St. Lawrence Island in Alaska, and people who grew up there or moved away carry it with them. A shirt with Gambell on it is a way to say where you're from to people who have never heard of it, and to the people who have, it's an instant conversation starter. The island is known for its strong community ties and its connection to the sea, so a hoodie or tee works well for anyone who spends time out on the water or back home for family gatherings. Because the place name is the main thing on every design, you can keep it simple, or add a second line with a family name, a year, or a line about home. A Gambell mug is a good fit for someone who has moved to the Lower 48 and wants a daily reminder of where they're from. If you're not sure how the village would want to be represented, the safest choice is a clean design with just the name and your own personal line.
