About this haines gift
Haines is a small town on the Chilkat Peninsula in southeast Alaska, and people who live there tend to be proud of how far they are from everything else. Wherever a Haines person ends up, a shirt with the town name is a way of saying where they're from and how they got there. Locals often wear that kind of thing for summer on the water, for the drive home after a long time away, or for the first cold morning when they're happy to be somewhere with real weather. Many designs have a second line, so you can add a year, a family name or the street they grew up on. For the transplant who misses the mountains and the quiet, a Haines mug on the kitchen counter is a small daily reminder of home. A kids tee or baby onesie works for a family who wants the town name on their youngest member from the start.
