About this hilo gift
Hilo is the rainy side of the Big Island, the town where the waterfalls and the farmers market are, and where people who've been there tend to say they'd go back in a heartbeat. A Hilo shirt is how someone who grew up there, or spent a few years on the island, wears that home on their chest. Hilo has the kind of mellow, outdoorsy feel that suits a soft tee for the beach, a hoodie for the cooler mornings up the mountain, or a mug for the coffee they're drinking while they plan the next trip back. Add a second line like Big Island, a neighborhood name, or the year they moved away and it becomes their Hilo, not a souvenir. For a Hilo local living somewhere else, a shirt with the town name is an easy way to say they miss it.
