About this ho ho kus gift
Ho-Ho-Kus is a small borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, and the people who grew up there tend to stay attached to it. A shirt with the name is how they show that, whether they still live a few minutes away or have moved across the country. Locals will recognize the name right away, and that recognition is the point: the gift says this is where I'm from. Since the name itself is the whole joke for most people, the second line is where you can make the shirt personal, with a graduation year, a street, or a class year for a high school reunion. For someone who has moved away, a mug with the town name works as a small daily reminder of home. For a kid who's just started a new school or a family moving in, a kids tee or onesie makes a good first thing to wear from their new hometown.
