About this hoopeston gift
Hoopeston is a small town in east-central Illinois, and people who grew up there tend to stay attached to it, whether they still live down the road or have moved to Chicago or beyond. A shirt with the town name is how they claim it at a family reunion, a high school homecoming, or a visit home for the holidays. Because it's a small place, the details that matter are personal ones: the street they lived on, the year they graduated, the family name everyone knows. Those go on the second line of most designs, and they turn a town shirt into one that's theirs. For someone who has moved away, a mug with Hoopeston on it is a quiet daily reminder of where they're from. A hoodie fits the cold Illinois winters that many former residents still miss, or still complain about.
