About this plum city gift
Plum City is a small place, and people who come from small places tend to hold on to them. Someone from Plum City might be the one who moved to Minneapolis and still calls home when the weather turns, or the one who never left and runs into half the town at the grocery store. A shirt with the town name is an easy way to say where they're from, and it works just as well for a visit back home as for a day in the city they ended up in. Hoodies are the warm choice for the cold months, and a mug with the town name gives them something to pick up each morning. If they have kids, a matching kids tee or baby onesie carries the name forward. Since you're choosing a place rather than a job or a name, the second line is where you can make it personal: a graduating year, a family name, or the years they lived there.
