About this shawneetown gift
Shawneetown is a small river town in southern Illinois, the kind of place where people who grew up there tend to stay loyal to it for life, even after they move away. A shirt with the town name is how someone wears that loyalty to a reunion, a homecoming game, or a family visit back to the old street they knew. Small towns often have a second layer of meaning too: the county, the river, the school class a person was in. You can put the year they left, the class they belonged to, or a family name on the second line, which turns a general town shirt into something only their people would recognize. For the person who moved away for work and still calls home for the local news, a hoodie or mug with the town on it is a steady reminder of where they're from.
