About this shiocton gift
Shiocton is a small village in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, and people who grew up there tend to stay attached to it no matter how far they roam. A shirt with the village name is a way for a former resident to claim it, whether they still live a few miles away or have moved across the country for work. For someone who went to school there or whose family has been in town for generations, a hometown shirt reads as more personal than a generic souvenir. Small places like this also make good inside jokes: the wave from a passing truck, the one stoplight, the high school game on Friday night. The best approach is to put the village name front and center, then use the second line for a graduation year, a family name or a street they'd recognize. For the person who moved away, an 11 oz mug is a daily reminder of home, and a hoodie works well for the cold months.
