About this tabor city gift
Tabor City is a small town in Columbus County, North Carolina, close to the South Carolina line, and the people who grew up there tend to carry it with them wherever they go. A shirt with the town name is how a former resident wears their hometown to a college reunion or a family visit, and it's a quick conversation starter with anyone who asks where they're from. It also suits the relative who still lives there and wants to show it. Since the town is small, a shirt is the kind of gift that gets worn to the grocery store, the ballfield and the church potluck all in one week. Add a graduation year, a family name or the street they grew up on in the second line, and the shirt becomes about their particular corner of the town rather than a generic souvenir. A mug works well for the kitchen of someone who misses home, and a hoodie is a practical choice for cooler months.
