About this ukiah gift
Ukiah is a small city in Mendocino County, in the wine and redwood country of Northern California, and the people who live there tend to be proud of it in a quiet way. A Ukiah shirt is how they say so at the farmers market, at a county fair, or on a visit to the coast. It's also a strong gift for someone who grew up there and has since moved to a bigger city, the one who still follows the local news and misses the drive down Highway 101. Add the year they graduated from Ukiah High, or a neighborhood nickname only locals would know, and the shirt starts to feel like a private joke. A mug works well for the kitchen of someone who moved away, and a hoodie suits the cool mornings and foggy evenings the valley gets, even in summer.
