About this west chicago gift
West Chicago is a small suburb about thirty miles west of the Loop, and people who live there tend to feel a real attachment to it even when they commute into the city every day. A shirt with West Chicago on it is a way of claiming a place that isn't on most souvenir racks. It works for someone who grew up there and moved away, for a family whose kids are in the local schools, or for a neighbor who's been around long enough to know every shortcut. The gift lands best when it feels specific to them, so think about what they'd recognize at a glance: the high school they went to, the street they grew up on, the year they moved in. Add that to a second line and the shirt becomes a small piece of their own history. Hoodies suit the colder months, and mugs suit the kitchen table where local news gets read first thing.
