About this west shokan gift
West Shokan is a small hamlet in the Catskills, tucked into the Ulster County hills near Woodstock and the Ashokan Reservoir. People who live there tend to know the back roads, the seasons that change fast in the mountains, and the way a town of a few hundred people can feel like a whole world. A shirt with West Shokan on it is how they claim that place, whether they're a year-round resident, a weekend hiker, or someone who grew up there and moved away. For the person who left, a mug with the town name is a daily reminder of where they're from. For the local who lives for the trails and the first snow, a hoodie works through every season the Catskills throw at them. Add a second line for a street, a year, or the name of the house they grew up in, and the gift becomes about their own corner of the hamlet rather than just the map dot.
