About this director studio gift
A studio director runs the place where the work actually gets made: they schedule the shoot or the session, keep the budget honest, and spend long days making calls that the rest of the team only sees the results of. Their gifts tend to get used during the exhausting stretches, like the long edit, the late-night wrap, or the second cup of coffee before a client review. A hoodie for the cold soundstage or the all-nighter, a tee for the set, or a mug for the desk they never quite leave all fit that life. The detail that makes it theirs is the second line: a studio name, a department, or a year they took the job. Since the word is a job title rather than a specific company, you can put in the name of the studio they run so the shirt matches the place they spend their days.
