About this lab scientist gift
Lab scientists spend their days with pipettes, sample tubes and a stack of protocols that only makes sense to the people who wrote them. Long incubation runs mean late evenings, and a lot of their work happens in a room where nobody else is looking. A gift that acknowledges the work lands well: a tee they can wear under a lab coat, a hoodie for the cold walk to the parking garage, or a mug that stays on the bench where the coffee gets drunk between experiments. Lab scientist is a broad title, so the best way to make it theirs is the second line. Add their specialty, the instrument they run most, or the lab or institution they're at, and the shirt becomes about their actual bench rather than a general job. If they've just finished a degree or passed a milestone, put the year on it. For a whole lab, one design with each person's name on their own shirt beats another round of cupcakes.
