About this director library services gift
A library services director usually runs the whole system behind the front desk: budgets, branch schedules, staffing, the catalog, and the programs that bring people through the door, from story time to job-search help. It's a job that rarely gets applause, so a gift that names it lands well. Many directors spend long days in meetings and long evenings at board sessions, so something comfortable for the drive in or a mug for the office coffee routine tends to get used. Their profession is also a point of pride among library people, and a shirt or mug that says it plainly can start a conversation at a conference. To make it personal, add the library or system they serve in the second line, or the year they took the role. A title on its own is generic; a title with a place and a year is theirs.
