About this substitute teacher gift
Substitute teachers walk into a room of strangers, find the lesson plan half-buried under a stack of papers, and somehow get a class through the day. Many of them do it because they like kids and like flexibility, and they're rarely thanked the way the regular teacher is. A gift that says substitute teacher on it tells them their role counts. What lands best is something they can use on the days they're not in front of a class: a tee for a long drive between schools, a hoodie for the cold classroom that never gets the heat right, or a mug for the coffee they'll drink before the first bell. Add a line that feels personal, like the grade levels they cover or the district they work in, and it stops being a generic teacher gift. Subs often get forgotten at the end of the school year, so a gift in late spring, around Teacher Appreciation Week in early May, is a good time to get it in their hands.
