About this visiting teacher gift
A visiting teacher works from a caseload rather than a single classroom, moving between schools and families to check on attendance, home situations and the kids who keep slipping through. Much of the job happens in a car, in hallways and on doorsteps, so the gifts that land are the ones that go along for the ride. A soft tee for the long drive days, a hoodie for cold school parking lots, or a mug that lives on the passenger seat cup holder. Put the word on it exactly as they'd describe themselves, and add a second line for their district, their school, or the years they've been doing it. Visiting teachers often get thanked by the families they help more than by anyone at the district, so a personal piece of clothing or a mug with their name says the appreciation the job rarely gets. Teacher appreciation week falls in early May, the busiest time to order.
