About this cost gift
Cost is a small unincorporated community in Gaston County, North Carolina, and I don't know much about its local details beyond that, so the gift matters more than the place. Someone from a small town like this often carries it with them, whether they still live there, come home for holidays, or moved away for work. A shirt with the town name is the easiest way to say you know where they're from and that it still counts. Pair the word with a second line for a year, a family name or a street, and it stops being a souvenir and becomes theirs. For the person who left, a mug on the kitchen counter is a daily reminder of home. A hoodie is a good pick for a cold morning, especially if they're far from the place it names.
