About this distribution system operator gift
A distribution system operator, or DSO, keeps the power flowing to homes and businesses, usually from a control room or in the field during storms and outages. Their days can start before dawn and end with a truck full of cable and a long drive home after a line goes down. Gifts that land for them tend to be the practical, everyday ones: a hoodie for the cold trucks and control rooms, a mug for the long shift, a tee for the weekend. Putting the job title on it shows you understand what they do, and a second line with their utility, region or crew makes it theirs. Many people in this line of work take pride in keeping the lights on, so a shirt that names their role is a way of saying you noticed. Check the exact title they use at work before you order, since utilities sometimes call the same job something a little different.
