About this adelphi gift
Adelphi is a name people from Garden City, Hempstead and the Long Island towns around it tend to say with a little pride. A shirt with Adelphi on it is a way to claim that corner of Long Island, whether the wearer is a student, a longtime resident or someone who moved away and still thinks of it as home. Adelphi is also a name with a campus attached, so for a student or alum a hoodie or tee doubles as a school-spirit piece that gets worn on game days and move-in weekends. For someone who spends their days in another state, an 11 oz mug with Adelphi on it is a small daily reminder of where they're from. Add a second line like a graduation year, a neighborhood or a street, and the design starts to feel like it was made for one person rather than for everyone who shares the name.
