About this ainu dog gift
The Ainu dog, called Hokkaido in Japan, is a medium-sized spitz-type breed from the northern island of Hokkaido, and people who own one tend to love it fiercely and explain it often. Most folks have never heard of the breed, so a shirt that names it starts conversations at the dog park, the trailhead and the vet's waiting room. Owners of these dogs are usually hikers and outdoorsy types, and they'll wear a hoodie on cold morning walks until it's soft and faded. What makes a gift land is the personal touch. Put the dog's name on the second line, add a gotcha date or birth year, or type the word as they'd say it, Ainu Dog or Hokkaido. It shows you know their dog, not just dogs in general. A mug for the first coffee of the day, or a kids tee for the child who grew up with the dog, fits right in.
