About this gratiot gift
Gratiot is a name that tends to mean something specific to the people who carry it, and for many of them that's the Detroit area, where Gratiot Avenue runs north from downtown through the east side. If the person you're shopping for grew up there or still lives near the old streets, a shirt with the word on it is a quick way to say where they're from. Place names on clothing work best when they feel earned, so think about how this person talks about home. Is it a neighborhood they still drive through, a corner they spent summers on, a family address? Put that detail in the second line and the shirt becomes a small, recognizable piece of their story. Because Gratiot is a less common word, it's worth checking the preview before you order to confirm the spelling and spacing look right to you.
