About this kampsville gift
Kampsville is a small river town in western Illinois, on the bluffs above the Illinois River, and the people who live there tend to know everybody else. A shirt with the town name is the kind of thing a Kampsville native wears to a homecoming, a family reunion or a summer visit to the riverfront, and it starts conversations with other people from the area who recognize the name. For someone who grew up there and moved away, a mug or hoodie is a quiet way of saying the place still counts. Because the town is small, a personal second line does most of the work: a graduating class year, a family name, or the year they moved back. Those details turn a town name into a gift that means something specific to the person opening it.
