About this plans examiner gift
A plans examiner reviews building plans before a permit goes out, checking code compliance, structural details, egress and zoning against the drawings in front of them. It's careful, detail-heavy work, often done at a counter with a stack of sheets and a deadline on the next applicant. The gifts that land for someone in this job are the ones that acknowledge the precision: a tee or hoodie they can wear on a site visit or to a weekend project, or a mug that holds the first coffee before the plan review queue opens. Put their job title on the front and a line underneath, like their jurisdiction or their department, so it reads as theirs rather than a generic work shirt. If you're buying for a whole plan review team, one design in the Team Shop with each person's name on their own shirt makes a better office gift than a shared lunch. Many people in this field also hold a credential, so if they've earned one, type it in and they'll know you noticed what it took to get there.
